Dugout Canoes

Jonathan and his wife Tanya refurbished 4 First Nations canoes for the Island County Historical Society.

Each canoe was hand-dug by local Native American canoe makers. These are family racing canoes, built for speed and agility.

The Telegraph carried 11 family members, is approx. 55 feet long and dates to 1905. The other 3 canoes are of similar age.

On permanent display at the Island County Historical Museum in Coupeville, WA.
